Lyrics #47

Following on from Tuesday's brilliant Avett Brothers' gig, here's a bit of a lyrics special for them...

Don't say it's over
Cause that's the worst news I could hear
I swear that I will do my best to be here
Just the way you like it
Even though it's hard to hide
Push my feelings all aside
I will rearrange my plans and change for you

If I could go back
That's the first thing I would do
I swear that I would
Do my best to follow through
Come up with a master plan
A homerun hit, a winning stand
A gaurantee and not a promise
That I'll never let your love slip from my hands

If it's the beaches
If it's the beaches' sands you want
Then you will have them
If it's the mountains' bending rivers
Then you will have them
If it's the wish to run away
Then I will grant it
Take whatever you think of
While I go gas up the truck
Pack the old love letters up
We will read them when we forget why we left here

Song: If It's The Beaches
Album: The Second Gleam
2008, Ramseur Records

There’s a darkness upon me that’s flooded in light

Song: Head Full Of Doubt, Road Full Of Promise
Album: I And Love And You
2009, American Recordings

Disappear from your hometown
Go and find the people that you know
Show them all your good parts
Leave town when bad ones start to show

Song: The Weight Of Lies
Album: Emotionalism
2007, Ramseur Records

Sayin' hello, holdin' your hand
Thinkin' I'll ask when can I have
More of, more of, more of, more of
More of, more of, more of, more of...you
Wonderin' what this life's all about
But I can't see myself livin' without
More of, more of, more of, more of
More of, more of, more of, more of...you

Song: More Of
Album: Not really sure - think this might be a brand new track..

"More of you" was cut from the album "I and Love and You" if you purchase the ILY deluxe package, you get it with the demos. They also released it on the 7" vinyl along with Slight Figure of Speech prior to the ILY release.

Oh right! That's great, good to know, thanks Julianne. It really was a very special gig for me - I'm going through a bad patch with my wife and ILY was a bit of an "our album" but the sheer brilliance of the band made it anything but an emotional trial for me. Sorry, probably too much information - bottom line is, it was great!

Thanks for the info.
