4. CHASE & STATUS VS. DIZZEE RASCAL – Heavy Hot Off The Press
Mental album-only cut from C&S’ recent No More Idols album. Dizzee’s on fine form too.

5. BETH DITTO – Open Heart Surgery Hot Off The Press
The Gossip’s leading lady releases her debut solo EP, produced by Simian Mobile Disco.

6. DURAN DURAN – Come Undone New To Me
From 1993’s The Wedding Album, this shows why they’re still respected now.

7. BRIAN ENO – Cindy Tells Me New To Me
From ‘73 debut solo album by ex-Roxy Music man and all round legendary producer/recorder.

8. WHITE DENIM – Drug Hot Off The Press
Psych rock Texans come good yet again on brand new track ahead of forthcoming fourth album.

9. TORO Y MOI – Still Sound Hot Off The Press
From debut album from ‘the Bull & Me’, Underneath The Pine, a recent Rough Trade album of the month.

10. ELVIS COSTELLO – Pump It Up New To Me
Brilliant pop single from 1978’s This Year’s Model album.

11. PATRICK WOLF – The City Hot Off The Press
Perfect pop? I think so. From new album Lupercalia, Wolf’s fifth to date.

12. ELBOW – Jesus Is A Rochdale Girl Hot Off The Press
Beautiful and triumphant return for Elbow with new record Build A Rocket Boys!

13. BARRY LOUIS POLISAR – All I Want Is You Rediscovery Of The Month I
From the Juno OST and only recently acquired on CD for me. Polisar was a kids songwriter, donchaknow.

14. CAT STEVENS – Another Saturday Night New To Me
Sam Cooke cover by pre-Islam Stevens. A 1974 greatest hits-only track.

15. JOE SOUTH – Games People Play New To Me
Sounds so familiar. This track won Grammies and was South’s biggest single, from 1968.

16. R.KELLY – Ignition (Remix) Rediscovery Of The Month II
A throwaway cheese-fest? Not likely. This 2002 UK #1 is now regarded as a high watermark for modern R&B, and it’s a brilliant track. Even if he is a pervert. Perfect for early summer too.

This month's accompanying photo is of the 50 (count 'em) CDs that I won from Mojo magazine - I think I entered their competition about best albums of the year before Christmas and without thinking about it again I won their top 50 of 2010. Totally sweet.
