Ed Thigpen passed away recently - he was one of the all-time great jazz drummers. I know him best for his work as one of the Oscar Peterson Trio, and in fact only last week I bought a record of theirs that I didn't have - Stan Getz and The Oscar Peterson Trio. It's as good as I'd hoped. And below is some video of Getz with two of the OP trio, Thigpen on drums of course and Ray Brown on bass. And that's Lou Levy stepping in for Peterson on piano.
